Aluminium Doors, Bi-Fold Doors and Windows
Why Aluminium?
Slimmer and Stronger.
Safety, functionality, thermal efficiency and sustainability – these are just some of the considerations of architects when designing a building, as well as meeting their client’s needs. Aluminium has been used for innovative architecture since the 1930s for properties such as strength, durability, ease of use and light weight. Because aluminium is lightweight but also innately strong, it provides the flexibility needed to achieve complex layouts while still offering required structural stability.
Aluminium window and door profiles are at the heart of high-end, design-led projects. Aluminium profiles are sharp, crisp, flexible and modern and slim - allowing natural light to fill your space. From a design point, using aluminium means we can provide clients with a wide variety of bespoke low maintenance surface finishes and colours, unlike uPVC or timber.
Commercial Aluminium Windows
When The Cornish Distilling Co. were looking for bespoke architectural fenestration for their dazzling distillery, they came to Horizon - and we were thrilled to take on this project.
Aluminium provides a full solution for any installation with a choice of contemporary or traditional styles. Aluminium windows, residential, composite, bifold and French door options include 'Square', a standard profile style window or 'Featured', a more traditional profile replicating the ovolo style of a traditional timber window.
Aluminium Bi-Fold Doors
Passivhaus - Passive House Standard
Passivhaus buildings achieve a 75% reduction in space heating requirements, compared to standard practice for UK new build. The Passivhaus standard therefore gives a robust method to help the industry achieve the 80% carbon reductions that are set as a legislative target for the UK Government. Passivhaus also applies to retrofit projects, achieving similar savings in space heating requirements.
If thermal efficiency is your highest priority, Horizon can provide windows and doors with industry-leading thermal properties that meet or exceed the requirements for Passive House standard.
